Mercy Health System partners with the Janesville Police Department offers a monthly self-defense program, called S.A.F.E., for women. The next session is Tuesday, January 24, from 5-7 pm, at the Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, 1000 Mineral Point Ave. in Janesville. This two-hour class taught by Janesville police officers educates women on how to protect themselves from crime and introduces physical training methods.
“The class taught me the fundamentals of how to protect myself in any given situation,” says last year’s participant. “You will learn how to successfully fight their way out of a dangerous situation and more importantly, the parts of your body that make the best weapons.”
Cost of the class is $5. For more information or to register, please call Mercy HealthLine at (608) 756-6100 or (888) 39-MERCY.
